The idea for Your Life in Chapters began with a gift I bought for my daughter — a 100-year diary. Every few months I would write about her life, add photographs and record special milestones. It quickly became one of my most treasured possessions.

As the years went by, I realised the diary wasn’t designed for the way families actually preserve memories. The pages became cluttered with photographs, there wasn’t enough space to tell the stories behind the pictures, and there was no structure to capture the moments that matter most.

Most importantly, I couldn’t preserve the things that bring memories to life — the laughter, the voices, the sound of a child’s first words.

I found myself wishing I’d had something better. So I decided to make it: keepsake books made to a quality you won’t want to put in a drawer, with pages thoughtfully designed so all you have to do is fill them in — one chapter at a time, until you’re holding the whole story.
