Privacy Policy
Last updated: [date]
This policy explains what personal information Your Life in Chapters collects when you place an order, why we collect it, and your rights. We are [legal entity name], [registered address].
What we collect
- Your name, email address and delivery address
- The details of your order
- Any optional message or personalisation text you choose to add
We do not see or store your card details. All payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Why we use it
We use your information only to take payment, fulfil and post your order, send order confirmations, and reply to any questions you send us. We will not send you marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary with the services that help us operate: Stripe (payments) and our email and hosting providers. We never sell your data.
Memories you upload
If you use the memories area that comes with a keepsake, we store the videos, photos and voice notes you upload, along with any caption or date you add and the email address you sign in with. These files may include a child’s personal data.
Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you tick the box at upload — where you confirm you have the right to share that content, including images of any children. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the memory.
Uploads are held in private storage with no public access. Each time a memory is viewed it is served through a short-lived, signed link, and memory pages are never indexed by search engines. We share this data only with the providers that run the service for us — our storage, hosting and email providers — as processors. We never sell it.
You stay in control: from your account you can edit, hide, replace, reissue the link for, or permanently delete any memory. Deleting removes the files for good. We keep memories while your book’s service is active; if an account is dormant for a long time we may contact you before removing its data. Anyone can also report a memory using the link on its page if they believe it should not be shared.
[PLACEHOLDER — Andrea/legal to confirm the exact consent wording and the dormant-account period before launch.]
Your rights
